I'm sure we can all remember back when we absolutely HAD to leave out milk and cookies for Santa. Then we would hide and try to witness the man, the myth, the legend, as he enjoyed our delicious treats. We never did catch him in the act, though we were super proud of ourselves when we'd see nothing but a plate full of crumbs and an empty glass the next morning.
